Where Wimberley Tree Service works
Based in Wimberley, covering Hays County and reaching into Comal, Blanco and south-west Travis. We are a service area business, so we come to you.
Fifteen communities across the Hill Country
If you are not on the list, ask anyway. If we cannot reach you properly we will say so rather than waste your time.
Wimberley
Santos grew up on twenty acres in the Hill Country and the business is based here, so Wimberley is not a service area we drive out…
San Marcos
San Marcos is a short run east from Wimberley and we work there constantly. Residential streets off Hunter Road and Lime Kiln Road, the older properties…
Kyle
Kyle has grown fast and a lot of the tree work here is on younger plantings in newer subdivisions around Plum Creek and off Kohlers Crossing,…
New Braunfels
New Braunfels sits at the southern end of our area and we work it regularly, from in-town properties near the Comal and Guadalupe rivers out to…
Buda
Buda work splits between the newer subdivisions off FM 967 and Old San Antonio Road, where trees are younger and closer to houses, and the older…
Dripping Springs
Dripping Springs is a short run north of Wimberley on Ranch Road 12 and much of our work there is on acreage rather than town lots,…
Canyon Lake
The lots around Canyon Lake are frequently steep, narrow and hard to get equipment onto, with houses tucked into the hillside and trees leaning downhill over…
Bee Cave
Bee Cave sits at the northern edge of where we work, off TX 71 toward Lake Travis. The properties here tend to be larger, heavily treed…
Austin
We are honest about this one. Wimberley to central or north Austin is a long way and we would not be doing you a favor pretending…
Spring Branch
Spring Branch covers a lot of ground either side of US 281 in northern Comal County, out toward Rebecca Creek and Canyon Lake. Ranch and acreage…
Woodcreek
Woodcreek is a mile north of Wimberley and the least like the acreage around it. Small platted lots, a fifty year old landscape planted with the subdivision, and removals that have to be rigged out rather than felled…
Bulverde
Bulverde sits at the crossroads of 281 and 46 in Comal County, the southern edge of where we work. Open grown homestead oaks and a lot of new building on old ranch land…
Bear Creek
Bear Creek is a village of barely a square mile in northern Hays County, hard against the Austin line. Wooded lots, native oak and cedar, and separate permit rules rather than Austin’s…
Driftwood
Driftwood is close enough that we are through it most weeks. Acreage and country properties along FM 1826 and FM 150, plus the newer building going…
Blanco
Blanco is in our Business Profile service area and we work it, though the jobs there look different from the ones in town. Larger acreage, more…
Fischer
Fischer sits out along FM 32 on the Devil's Backbone between Wimberley and Canyon Lake. Steep, rocky, heavily cedared country with long views and difficult access…

Questions about our service area
Straight answers, including what the work actually costs.
What areas do you serve?
Wimberley first, then across Hays County and into Comal, Blanco and south-west Travis. That covers Dripping Springs, Driftwood, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Canyon Lake, Fischer, Spring Branch, New Braunfels, Blanco and Bee Cave. If you are not sure whether you are inside it, call and ask.
Do you travel outside of Wimberley?
Most of our work is outside Wimberley itself. We are a service area business rather than a shop, so we come to you.
How far are you willing to travel for a tree service project?
It depends more on the job than the distance. A large removal or a multi-day clearing job is worth a longer drive than a single small trim. Tell us where you are and what you need and we will give you a straight answer.
Do you charge a call-out fee for further properties?
The estimate is free wherever you are. If distance affects the price of the work itself we tell you that up front rather than adding it later.
More on looking after Hill Country trees
The same problems turn up right across these communities. We write up the questions that come up on jobs, including when oaks can safely be cut, what oak wilt actually looks like, why trees here fail after heavy rain, and what cedar clearing does and does not fix. It is all on the Wimberley Tree Service blog.
What we do across the Hill Country
The same crew and the same standard in every community on this list.
Cedar management. Cedar management includes removing dead cedar trees and thinning dense stands, and cedar clearing promotes proper growth in landscapes and of surrounding vegetation by taking the competition for water off your oaks. Cedar management helps maintain healthy landscapes in Texas, is essential for site preparation in construction and for fence lines, and cedar management services are available for residential and commercial properties.
Land clearing. Land clearing removes brush, overgrowth and debris efficiently and can create more usable outdoor spaces on a property that has closed in. It prepares sites for construction projects, driveways and septic fields, can involve cedar removal and site preparation, and involves clearing out unwanted vegetation rather than scraping a slope bare. Land clearing services are available for both residential and commercial properties.
Emergency and storm work. Emergency tree services respond quickly to storm damage and are essential for safety after severe weather, and storm damage cleanup includes clearing fallen trees and branches. Dead and hazardous trees can pose risks to people and property, and removing them can reduce those risks. Emergency tree services are available for residential and commercial properties, and professional-grade equipment is used for emergency tree removal.
Oak work specifically. Wimberley faces severe pressure from oak wilt, a fungal disease that kills oak trees, so how an oak is cut matters more here than the date on the calendar. Every oak cut is painted on the spot, tools are disinfected before we work on an oak, and oak brush is chipped rather than left on site. Oak wilt treatment itself requires licensed professionals, which is separate work we do not take on.
Health and ongoing care. Proper tree care improves safety and long-term health, and catching a problem early is almost always cheaper than the removal it turns into. Oak wilt treatment requires licensed professionals for effective management, so the useful first step is an honest diagnosis rather than a product.
Tree Service Near Me TX
Wimberley Tree Service is a locally owned tree service company, owner operated, and the same small team does the work on every job. We are based in Wimberley TX and cover Hays County and the surrounding areas, including Dripping Springs, Driftwood, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Blanco, Bee Cave and Austin, with nearby areas across Comal and Blanco counties served on the same terms.
We work for homeowners, ranch and acreage owners, builders, clients and property managers, on both residential and commercial properties. Whether it is one dead tree in a back yard, dead limbs and branches over a driveway, or a whole fence line that has disappeared into cedar, the process is the same: we come out, look at it, and give you a written price that fits the unique needs of the property.
Every estimate is a free estimate, and we will tell you when we can get out to look. Scheduling the work itself is a separate thing: we run about a month booked out, and we will give you a real date rather than a hopeful one. Emergencies are the exception and are fitted in as soon as the crew can get there. We are $1M liability insured, we take great care to leave the job site clean, and we will tell you when a tree does not need the work you asked about.
A four person crew, and years of Hill Country tree work. The business has run under this name since April 2025. Orlyn and Matt climb, Aurelio works the ground, and Santos comes out on the jobs that need him. That is who turns up: the same small crew every time, not a subcontractor you have never met. Our minimum charge for a job is $500.
You get options, not one number. Every estimate is itemised and normally comes with three to five ways to approach the job, priced separately, so you can see what each part costs and choose the scope yourself. Most people find one of the middle options is the job they actually wanted. We work in English and Spanish.
