ISA Certified Arborist, Santos BonillaFree estimates$1M liability insuredLocally owned and operatedRated 5.0 across 96 Google reviewsResidential and commercial tree work
Homes, small acreage, ranches and property managers across Hays, Comal and Blanco counties. High-risk and hazardous work is what we are known for: a tree over a house, a dangerous limb, or land that needs clearing fast.
Tree removal
Hazardous, dead and storm-damaged trees taken down in sections, including work tight to roofs and fences.
Tree trimming
Deadwood out, weight off the heavy limbs, and clearance over roofs and driveways.
Oak trimming
Live oak work year round, with every cut sealed the same day.
Emergency service
Trees on structures and blocked driveways. We answer the phone any hour and assess at first light. Emergency work depends on where the crew already is, so we will tell you honestly when we can get to you.
Land clearing
Selective clearing for lots and acreage, with the oaks worth keeping left standing.
Cedar clearing
Cedar thinned back to bring pasture and oaks back and cut the fire load.
Tree health
A straight walk-through of what needs doing, what can wait, and what to leave alone.
Chipping
Brush chipped on site, or hauled away entirely. Spreading the chip is not included.
What we do not do
We would rather tell you up front than take a booking we cannot serve properly. We do not do fungicide injections or disease treatments, tree planting, or cabling and bracing. Stump grinding is arranged rather than done by our own crew. If you need one of those, say so and we will point you somewhere sensible.
How the work fits together
Most jobs here are not one service. A tree over a roof usually starts as a condition question, becomes either trimming or removal, and finishes with chipping. Acreage work is usually cedar clearing first and land clearing second, because taking the cedar out changes what the rest of the ground needs.
That is why the same crew handles the whole job. You are not coordinating three contractors and hoping the second one turns up after the first has finished.
What we are known for
High-risk and hazardous work. A tree over a house, a dangerous limb, a split trunk after a storm, or land that needs opening up quickly. Rigging over structures is the part most crews would rather not do and it is a good part of what we get called for.
The straightforward jobs matter too, and we do plenty of them. But if you have been told your tree is too close to the house to take down safely, that is the conversation worth having with us.
How pricing works
Free estimate, and a written price for the work described in it. If the scope changes or we find something that was not visible when we quoted, we tell you before we carry on rather than after. If we think the job is smaller than you asked for, we quote the smaller job and say why.
Our process
No call center and no chasing. Santos walks the property himself, and the written price covers the work described in it.
Tell us what is going on
Call, text a photo, or send the form.
We come and look
Santos walks it himself and checks access, rigging and what sits underneath.
You get a written price
Agreed in writing before we start. Any change to that scope is discussed and approved before the extra work happens.
We do it and clean up
Chipped or hauled, logs cut to length, ground raked off.

Questions about our services
Straight answers, including what the work actually costs.
Do you provide tree services for residential and commercial properties?
Both. Homes and small acreage make up most of the work, and we also take on ranches, property managers, builders and commercial sites across the Hill Country.
How much does tree work cost?
It comes down to the size of the tree, how close it is to something that can be damaged, how much room the crew has, and what happens to the wood afterwards. That is why nobody can price it honestly over the phone. We give you the scope and price in writing after looking.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. Santos walks the property, tells you what needs doing and what does not, and puts a number in writing.
Will the price change once you start?
The written price covers the agreed scope of work. If you ask for additional work, or unforeseen conditions require a change of scope, we discuss and approve any price change before proceeding. If the job turns out smaller than quoted we tell you and charge the smaller figure.
Do you clean up afterwards?
Always. Brush is chipped or hauled, logs are cut to length or taken away, and the ground is raked off before we leave. Say at the estimate if you want the chip left as mulch and we will leave it where you want it. Spreading is not part of the price.
What do you not do?
Fungicide injections and disease treatments, tree planting, and cabling and bracing. Stump grinding is arranged rather than done by our own crew. If you need one of those we will point you somewhere sensible rather than take the booking.
More on looking after Hill Country trees
Not every tree question needs a quote attached to it. We write up the questions that come up on jobs, including when oaks can safely be cut, what oak wilt actually looks like, why trees here fail after heavy rain, and what cedar clearing does and does not fix. It is all on the Wimberley Tree Service blog.
What to ask before you hire any tree service
Before you book anything, from us or from anyone else, these are the questions that decide how the job goes.
Ask who is assessing the tree. Certified arborists can assess tree health and conditions, and on a borderline tree that judgment is the whole job. If the credential matters to you, ask directly whether the person quoting holds an ISA certification and ask for the number. Plenty of companies imply it without holding it, so it is a fair question to put to anyone. Santos is an ISA Certified Arborist and his number is TX-390690A.
Ask for the insurance certificate, and read it. General liability is what stands behind damage to your property if something goes wrong during the work. Ours is $1,000,000 general liability ($2,000,000 aggregate) through American Builders Insurance Company, and we send it before we start. Ask any company you call to send theirs.
Ask what equipment the job needs. Proper equipment is essential for removing trees in challenging locations, and professional-grade equipment is most of what separates a controlled job from a hopeful one. On a steep or tight Hill Country site the honest answer is sometimes that the job needs kit a particular crew does not own.
Get it in writing. A tree job needs a clear, written estimate detailing all services included: which trees, whether the stump is included, whether wood is hauled or left, whether brush is chipped on site, and the job site clean-up standard.
Check reviews and references. Reviews and references are important for choosing a reliable tree service, and satisfied customers in a place this size are easy to check. Ask for addresses of recent jobs nearby.
Ask about oak wilt protocol. Texas Hill Country tree services follow oak wilt prevention protocols, or they should. That means sealing oak cuts promptly, cleaning saws between properties, and disposing of oak debris properly. Material from an oak suspected of oak wilt is handled separately, because fungal mats form on infected red oak wood.
Tree Services Wimberley TX
Wimberley Tree Service is a locally owned tree service company, owner operated, and the same small team does the work on every job. We are based in Wimberley TX and cover Hays County and the surrounding areas, including Dripping Springs, Driftwood, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Blanco, Bee Cave and Austin, with nearby areas across Comal and Blanco counties served on the same terms.
We work for homeowners, ranch and acreage owners, builders, clients and property managers, on both residential and commercial properties. Whether it is one dead tree in a back yard, dead limbs and branches over a driveway, or a whole fence line that has disappeared into cedar, the process is the same: we come out, look at it, and give you a written price that fits the unique needs of the property.
Every estimate is a free estimate, and we will tell you when we can get out to look. Scheduling the work itself is a separate thing: we run about a month booked out, and we will give you a real date rather than a hopeful one. Emergencies are the exception and are fitted in as soon as the crew can get there. We are $1M liability insured, we take great care to leave the job site clean, and we will tell you when a tree does not need the work you asked about.
A four person crew, and years of Hill Country tree work. The business has run under this name since April 2025. Orlyn and Matt climb, Aurelio works the ground, and Santos comes out on the jobs that need him. That is who turns up: the same small crew every time, not a subcontractor you have never met. Our minimum charge for a job is $500.
You get options, not one number. Every estimate is itemised and normally comes with three to five ways to approach the job, priced separately, so you can see what each part costs and choose the scope yourself. Most people find one of the middle options is the job they actually wanted. We work in English and Spanish.
